What's this about?
Nous Research's Hermes Desktop app now embeds a browser the agent can control and "see," letting the local assistant navigate the web as part of its work.
What exactly is "computer use" / an agent browser?
"Computer use" is when an AI operates real software — moving the cursor, clicking, typing, reading the screen — instead of only chatting. An embedded, agent-aware browser is a contained version of that: the agent drives web pages inside the app, which is safer and more reliable than letting it loose on your whole machine.
Why it matters
Bringing controllable browsing inside a local app is a practical middle ground between "just chat" and full computer-use autonomy.
