Notion opens Markdown files

What's this about?

Notion can now open `.md` (Markdown) files directly as read-only previews and import them as Notion pages.

What exactly is Markdown?

Markdown is plain text with lightweight symbols for formatting (`#` for headings, `bold`). It's the lingua franca of developer docs — and, lately, of AI: nearly every AI agent writes its notes, plans, and outputs in Markdown files. That's why a note app supporting `.md` in 2026 is an AI story: Notion is building the bridge for the flood of agent-generated documents.

Why is it worth noting?

2.5k likes. The subtext everyone read: tools are adapting to a world where your files are increasingly written by agents, and Markdown is the format they speak.
