Claude Science helps assemble a UV sky map with labelled predictions

What's this about?

Brice Ménard combined UV surveys and used other wavelengths to predict missing regions, about one third of the sky. The published map distinguishes measurements from predictions and includes uncertainty layers; it is not a new direct observation of every region.

What exactly is inpainting?

Estimating a missing part using the surrounding data and learned relationships. Here other measured wavelengths also inform the estimate.

What's the community saying / why does it matter?

No substantive community thread was collected. Explicit uncertainty and provenance make the educational result easier to interpret without confusing estimates with telescope measurements.
