One model animates many skeleton types

What's this about?

UniMate generates motion for arbitrary rigged 3D assets from text without per-skeleton retraining. Its training set contains 13,006 motion sequences across humans, animals, insects, serpentine bodies and articulated objects.

What exactly is a “rigged skeleton”?

It is the hidden system of joints and bones used to pose a 3D character. Different creatures have different joint graphs, so one animation model normally struggles to transfer between them.

Why is this worth noting?

Topology-aware attention lets the model reason about how unfamiliar joints connect, opening zero-shot animation and editing across very different assets.
