`ant apply`: infrastructure-as-code for agents

What's this about?

Anthropic's ant CLI gains `ant apply`: declare Managed Agent environments, agents, skills, memory stores and deployments as files in your repo, and the command syncs the API's actual resources to match — Terraform's model, applied to agents.

What exactly is "infrastructure-as-code"?

Describing your deployed setup in version-controlled files instead of clicking through dashboards: reviewable, diffable, reproducible. Its arrival for agent fleets signals they've become real production infrastructure with the same drift and review problems as servers.

Why is this worth noting?

Agent configuration is exactly the kind of state that silently drifts — and given today's hook-update attack paper, having every skill and permission change flow through a reviewed git diff is a security control, not just a convenience.
