What's this about?
When a Cowork task involves a website, a browser now opens in Cowork's side panel and Claude drives it — navigating, filling forms and finishing the job — instead of handing you a link and stopping.
What exactly is different from an extension?
The ChatGPT extension covered in yesterday's digest drives *your* browser, inheriting every session you are logged into. This is a browser inside the product, so it starts with no ambient access to your accounts. That is a meaningful security difference in both directions: less inherited authority, and also less ability to act on sites where you are already signed in.

- The obvious comparison people drew is to OpenAI's browser extension push, with the sandboxing difference noted as the main distinction.
- Practical interest in the same chores that came up yesterday — forms, portals and services with no API.
- The caution is the standing one for browser agents: anything it can reach, it can act on, and a page it reads can contain instructions aimed at it.
