From Economic Agents to Agentic Economies

What's this about?

A systems blueprint for "economic world models," where you simulate a whole economy made of many interacting AI agents — moving from studying a single economic agent to modeling the emergent economy they collectively form.

What is an "agentic economy"?

An agentic economy is what you get when lots of autonomous AI agents transact, negotiate, and compete with each other — potentially a real thing soon, as agents book, buy, and sell on our behalf. Modeling it lets researchers ask macro questions (does it stabilize? who captures value?) before it exists at scale.

Why does it matter?

If agents start doing commerce autonomously, the interesting risks are *emergent* — collusion, flash-crash-style dynamics, monopolies. Building simulators now is how you study those before they hit the real economy.
