Cursor agents get Google Workspace hands

What's this about?

Cursor shipped plugins that let its agents read, write, and act across Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets — and separately made its cloud agents 20–30% more token-efficient (80% on computer-use runs).

What exactly is a "plugin" here?

A pre-built, authenticated bridge between the agent and an outside service. Instead of you copy-pasting an email into the chat, the agent itself can search your inbox, open the spreadsheet, and write the reply — the same direction as Anthropic's Connectors: the coding agent becoming a general work agent.

What's the community saying?

2.7k + 2.2k likes across the two announcements.
  1. Convergence-watching: Cursor, Claude, and ChatGPT Work are all racing to own "agent with access to your work accounts".
  2. The security-minded raise prompt-injection: an agent reading arbitrary inbound email is a classic attack surface.
  3. The efficiency numbers get as much attention as the features — token cost is now a headline spec for agents.
