What exactly is "embodied reasoning (ER)"?
DeepMind splits robot intelligence in two: the action model (Gemini Robotics 2) moves the body, while the ER model is the planner — it watches the scene, breaks a goal into steps, and decides who does what. Think foreman versus workers: ER 2 is the foreman, now capable of coordinating multiple workers at once.
Why it matters
Multi-robot orchestration is the step from "a robot does a task" to "a crew of robots runs a workflow" — the version warehouses and factories actually want.
