Cursor: 56% of merged PRs now come from cloud agents

What's this about?

Cursor says that in December, 1 in 10 of its own merged pull requests came from cloud agents; today it's 56%, as the company pushes longer, start-to-finish engineering tasks onto agents.

What exactly is a "cloud agent" / PR?

A pull request (PR) is a proposed code change a human normally reviews and merges. A "cloud agent" is an AI coding agent running on a server (not your laptop) that can take a task and produce a finished PR by itself. 56% means more than half of Cursor's accepted changes were authored by agents, with humans reviewing rather than writing.

Why it matters

It's a concrete, self-reported data point on how far agent-written code has moved inside a company that builds coding tools — and it sharpens the "will humans keep reviewing all this?" question dotey raised the same day.
