What's this about?
Codeberg, the nonprofit European code host, is amending its Terms of Use to prohibit hosting "LLM-extrusions" (repositories of mostly AI-generated code) and, separately, banning cryptocurrency projects.
What exactly is Codeberg?
A donation-funded, Berlin-based alternative to GitHub run by a nonprofit, popular with open-source purists who left GitHub over Copilot training on their code. Its selling point is values, so it legislates values questions GitHub won't touch.

- Enforceability: how do you *prove* a codebase is AI-extruded? Reviewers can't reliably detect it.
- Some see principled slop-defense; others see a nonprofit gatekeeping how people are allowed to write code.
- The crypto ban was better received but raised the same slippery-slope worry: which category gets banned next?
