Devin Outposts: run Devin on your own machines

What's this about?

Cognition's autonomous coding agent Devin can now run on hardware you control — a Mac mini on your desk, a GPU box in your lab, a VM inside a private network, or a Kubernetes cluster sitting next to internal services.

What exactly does "on-prem" buy you?

Cloud agents can't see systems behind your firewall, and many companies can't ship code/data out. "On-premises" flips it: the agent comes to where the code lives. It's the difference between mailing documents to an accountant and the accountant working at a desk in your office.

Why does it matter?

It marks coding agents entering the enterprise-procurement phase: the blocker is no longer capability but where the agent is allowed to run. Expect competitors to follow.
