PalmClaw: on-device phone agents

What's this about?

PalmClaw is a framework for running full multi-step agents — tool calls, observation, iteration — natively on a mobile phone, rather than on a server the phone talks to. (HF 7↑)

What exactly is "on-device"?

The model and agent loop run on the phone's own chip: private (your screen contents never leave the device), offline-capable, no per-call cloud costs. The challenge is that agents need many model calls per task, and phone hardware is tight — hence a dedicated framework for tool integration and memory under mobile constraints.

Why does it matter?

Phone-controlling agents are clearly coming (Apple/Google are both building them); whether they run on-device or in the cloud decides the privacy architecture of the next platform shift.
